St. Cyprian Gives Back this Christmas!

Advent has begun, and as Christians one way we prepare for Jesus’s coming is by reaching out to those in need. St. Cyprian will be doing this in two ways this Advent, and we invite you to participate in supporting these causes as much as you are able.

Washington, IL was devastated by the recent tornadoes, and about 120 students from St. Pat’s Catholic School (preschool-8th grade) have lost their homes and belongings. We will be collecting Christmas presents for these children to help their families through these difficult times. There are about 10 displaced children under the age of 5, 60 in K-4th, and 50 in 5th-8th grade. If each of our students forfeited just one of their Christmas presents and donated this gift instead, we could provide each one of these children with a present this year! All donated gifts may be brought to the school lobby, unwrapped, and placed under the Christmas tree before Tuesday, December 17th.

Throughout the second week of December (12/9-12/13), we will be collecting nonperishable food items for Catholic Charities’ Christmas Baskets. All items may be dropped off in the bins in the school lobby by Friday, December 13th. Encourage your child to participate by donating his/her favorite cereal or snack.

Thank you in advance for your generosity this Advent!
