Advent Service Project

There is much to do in this busy season as we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Lord in just a few weeks. At St. Cyprian, one way we prepare is by serving those less fortunate. Throughout Advent, we will be collecting gloves, hats and scarves for the homeless and needy in our local community. Any new gloves, hats, and scarf donations may be brought to school this week and next and placed in the basket in the school lobby. All items will be donated to Housing Forward, formerly known as West Suburban PADS. Thank you in advance for your generosity this Advent.

Try Shoparoo – the easiest way to fundraise!

St. Cyprian is now part of the EASIEST fundraising program we’ve ever seen!

Shoparoo is a free mobile app that lets you earn cash donations for our school, just by taking pictures of your shopping receipts. It’s that easy – just use your phone to take pictures of your receipts each time you shop. The best part is that it doesn’t matter where you shop or what you buy – every receipt counts!

Use this referral code, and we’ll earn extra donations for your first qualifying receipt:

In just 10 days, 17 supporters have used Shoparoo and raised $20 for St. Cyprian. Imagine what we could raise if EVERY FAMILY participated!

Cookie Walk Bakers & Volunteers Needed!

Christmas Cookie Walk
Saturday-Sunday, 12/12-12/13 after all masses

We still need bakers to make this event a success – we need dozens of your famous family recipes, tasty Christmas cookies, and ethnic specialties. Of course, home baked cookies only please! If you’re not a baker, help sell cookies after one of the masses! Contact the front office to volunteer to help or bake! It’s an easy way to complete a few of your required volunteer hours!

Winter Reminders

With the arrival of colder weather, please remember to send your child prepared for school each day. We try to let the children play outside during recess as much as the weather allows. Make sure your child comes prepared each day with a warm coat, gloves or mittens, a hat, a scarf, and boots and snow pants when applicable.

We know inclement weather can increase our morning commutes, but please make every effort to bring your children to school on time, even on snowy days. Should it be necessary to close school due to extreme weather or any other emergency, you will be notified via e-mail as soon as such a decision is made. The announcement may also be found on, WGN radio (720), WBBM radio (780), and major television news stations (CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX).
