8th grade Scholarships
St. Cyprian offers additional merit-based scholarships to students for their 8th grade year. All scholarships are awarded on the last day of school during the prior school year.

  • The John Honzl Scholarship is a $500 scholarship being awarded in memory of John Honzl, St. Cyprian Class of 1958, who always loved his “little school in River Grove.” The scholarship is awarded based on a student’s demonstration of respect, effort, and Christian values, and on the student’s reflection on what St. Cyprian means to him/her.
  • The Sr. Kathleen Klingen Scholarship is awarded in honor of our much-loved former principal. This $500 scholarship will be given to a student who is service oriented, considerate of others, and shows leadership in his/her daily actions.
  • The Tom Tarpey/John Stamm Scholarship is awarded to a student who reflects the dedication, kindness, honesty, and good character demonstrated by the gentlemen for whom the scholarship is named. The scholarship is funded by the annual St. Patrick’s Day Benefit held at the Underpass. Scholarship amount varies.
  • The Pastor’s Scholarship is offered to a faithful altar server who goes above and beyond in service to St. Cyprian Church. This scholarship is funded by our pastor, Fr. Darrio.
